News Bits (disease edition)

STIs rising among sex workers in Bali due to lack of treatment.

STI rates still rising among old people. If you have old clients, they may not be "safe"!

Vancouver study of sex workers reports a higher prevelance of HIV than the general population. Drugs are a factor. The study admits it cannot track sex worker clients -- which to me is a big freakin' knowledge gap. Pinning a damning statistic like this on only one half of the equation is irresponsible from a public health standpoint (IMO). Certainly does no favors to an already-maligned group of people.
